Have I ever been carried away to do something for God not because it was my duty, nor because it was useful, nor because there was anything in it at all beyond the fact that I love Him?
-Oswald Chambers
Where I can post my thoughts, my photographs, and what the Lord is teaching me. May it be a blessing to you, and help you meditate on that which is pure and lovely. "Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy -- meditate on these things." Philippians 4:8

A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling 'darkness' on the wall of his cell...

What happens when a wedding gets planned in one week's time? Engagement pictures get taken after the wedding! (So maybe they should really be called honeymoon portraits... :)
Congratulations, Caleb and Anna!

Rolling as a mighty ocean in its fullness over me!
Underneath me, all around me,
is the current of Thy love!
Leading onward, leading homeward
to Thy glorious rest above!
O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
spread His praise from shore to shore!
How He loveth, ever loveth,
changeth never, nevermore!
How He watches over His loved ones,
died to call them all His own;
How for them He intercedeth,
watcheth over them from the throne!
O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
'tis a heaven of heavens to me
And it lifts me up to glory,
for it lifts me up to Thee!

Yup. I still remember the day I took my very first picture -- wow, it seems like such a long time ago! I was 7 or 8, my brown hair all done up in two lil' pigtails...
Daddy came home from work and told us all to "hurry up and come outside". While driving home, he came across a huge snapping turtle that was in the process of crossing the road! Quickly stopping, he loaded it up in the back of his pick-up to bring it home. It was huge (and getting mad, too!) Someone went running for the camera and I remember asking: "Can I take it Daddy? Can I take the picture?"
I was so surprised when Daddy agreed -- and excited as he told me how to focus and what button to push. [smile]
There you have it folks. The very first picture I ever took. (I know, rather pathetic and unfriendly!) You can laugh -- I am!
Aren't you glad life is a journey, full of opportunities to grow?
"Do not despise small beginnings."
